With just three months away from crowning the new queen, the countdown to the grand finale of Miss Township SA has reached feverish levels. The semi-finalists have been hard at work with fashion industry specialist, beauty experts as well as personalities from the entertainment industry, ensuring that they are all prepared for what is set to be a life changing night for one girl.
For Lelethu Khashe, the final stretch leading up to the big day has been particularly exhausting. Hailing from Noordgesig, Soweto, the 21 year old LLB Law student from UNISA rose to fame through her charitable sanitary pad drive and inspirational talk initiative.
“I have always seen and admired how platforms such as these empower, uplift and motivate young women such as myself to thrive and achieve great things. Platforms such as Miss Township SA also enable one to amplify their voice and speak out about what we stand for and the issues that affect us as young women in South Africa”.
Part of her journey ahead of the final selection include making a charitable contribution to communities.
“I am the official Brand Ambassador of Reatlegile Charity which is aimed at empowering the youth to reach their full potential through career expos, girl child mentorship and business development programmes”.
“Being a part of this organisation enables me to reach out to my community in a more pragmatic way.
I have experience in public speaking as a minister at church, and have also been invited as guest speaker at churches like the ‘Towards Our Destiny Institute’ and have opportunity to be a speaker as a Head Girl in high school.
A night of glitz, glamour and hope await finalists on a Saturday night, December 5th, at the Manhattan hotel in Pretoria.
To vote for lelethu, simply sms Lelethu Khashe to 36997, sms cost R5.00 and free sms do not apply. “Organizations can also pledge their funds to sponsor my journey”.
