Hailing from the platinum city of the North West in Mogwase, Rebone Modau has recently been selected as a finalist in the Mrs Johannesburg 2020 pageant. An accomplishment which proves that a person’s dreams are within a one’s grasp. Meaning if one dares to reach for it.
The 28 year-old Vaal University of Technology graduate shared her journey thus far in the competition. “I am very glad that Mrs Johannesburg pageant is established by Rolemodels foundations which is so much aligned to my dreams. Rolemodels foundation is an NPO that mainly focuses on impacting lives positively, creating hope and developing sustainability”.
The race to own the crown is challenging. In addition to beauty, the participants must boast intelligence in responding to questions posed to them by adjudicators, which in return increase their chances of winning the competition amongst other aspects.
The pageant will highlight and bring to light many accomplishments achieved by women. These accomplishments will focus on education, intelligence, leadership, independence, commitment to humanity, and a desire to maintain peace around the globe.
The pageant month will be filled with glamour and intellectual trends. The finalists will be physically and mentally groomed whilst receiving training.
Rebone recalls her sparkling memories when she was crowned Miss Bakubung primary school in 2004. “It always feels like it was just yesterday. I have always had an inherent love for pageants from a tender age of 6 six. My first pageant was in grade 1 where I a held a 1st princess tittle for ‘Miss Tshwara o dire’”.
Having obtained B-Tech qualification in safety and management, the mother of two landed herself a job as a practitioner majoring in occupational health and safety at the Johannesburg Water company. “I am also a wife to a loving and supportive husband and a mother of two amazing princesses”.
Rebone’s future aspirations include growing her involvement in business and entrepreneurship.
