Police in Soweto are investigating a case of child abandoned after a community member brought a new born baby boy to the Moroka police station.
On Tuesday, 12 January 2021 a passer-by found a newborn baby boy wrapped with a jacket near the police station fence. It is alleged that the baby was abandoned. The baby was subsequently taken to the Chiawelo clinic for check-up and later transferred to the Chris Hani Baragwanath hospital for further treatment.
At this stage the mother of the baby is still unknown. We appeal to the community if they have any information regarding the incident to please contact Sergeant Pride Mazibuko of Moroka SAPS on 082 561 3434. All information received will be strictly treated as confidential.
