Police in Randfontein have responded swiftly to a complaint of murder and apprehended a 36 year old knife wielding suspect after he allegedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend’s 21 year old son and instantly killed two elders who were trying to stop him.
The 36 year old suspect allegedly arrived at his ex-girlfriend’s home searching for her. She was not home but her 21 year old son was in the yard. An argument ensued between the suspect and the 21 year old.
The suspect allegedly drew a knife and stabbed the 21 year old victim who the ran for safety into the house where the two elders were.
The knife wielding suspect instead followed him into the house. The two elders tried to stop him, but instead him turned onto the elders and also stabbed them. They died instantly on the scene with multiple stab wounds.
The 21 year old victim was later rushed to a local hospital after the suspect had fled the scene on foot.
The Randfontein directives responded swiftly to a complaint of a bloody scene. They worked around the clock searching for the suspect. A few hours later the suspect was cornered and eventually put under arrest.
A case docket of attempted murder and two charges of murder was opened at Randfontein SAPS.
The 36 year old suspect appeared briefly in the Randfontein magistrates court on 4th January 2022 and was remanded in custody for bail application.
